What is the benefit of using soy wax candles?
Soy wax is made from all natural vegetable oil, there is no release of CO2 in the atmosphere.
Regular paraffin wax is made with petroleum oil. The same stuff they use to make fuel. That’s why there is a chemical smell behind paraffin while soy has a very clean smell and burn.
Paraffin candles are more inexpensive to soy, but paraffin burns quickly meaning you have to replace your candles on a more regular basis. Soy candles last 50% longer than paraffin and leave almost no excess wax on the sides of your containers. Meaning the container can be easily cleaned and reused.
Soy wax candles have such a clean burn that there is very minimal black soot being produced, where as paraffin candles usually generate the soot, that means over time using paraffin candles your walls, furniture and edges of your carpet will start to stain and discolour.
Since soy wax is all natural it has no known toxins and is safe for humans, animals and the environment. Paraffin wax can release up to 11 known toxins in the air. With longer use of paraffin candles it can trigger headaches in most people.
Soy candles have a stronger and more pleasant scent due to the low melting point. Larger amounts of liquid accumulate around the wick. Liquid wax is where the essential oils evaporate into the atmosphere. Paraffin candles have a higher melting point so the scent may only be noticed in close range of the candle.
